Custom Orthotics
The foundation of your entire body starts at the soles of your feet. Our Orthotics are made from high-quality materials tailored to your specific foot profile and gait analysis
Why Custom Orthotics?
Orthotics are devices that are inserted into shoes to correct various foot problems. Common conditions that can be treated with orthotics include heel pain, bunions, and hammertoe. Orthotics can also be used to improve balance and stability. The benefits of custom orthotics go well beyond foot pain and may also help with
- Back pain
- Knee pain
- Ankle pain
- Hip pain
- Leg Fatigue
Since the frame of your entire body rests on your feet, custom orthotics relieves pressure on your ankles, knees and back. With proper foot alignment a greater range of motion is returned to your joints. These changes in alignment can result in significantly reduced hip, knee and lower back pain.
Our Process
At Allevia Physiotherapy we analyze your gait using a foot pressure plate where thousands of sensors capture the surface of your feet to create a 3D impression map. This foot pressure map is made of the relative pressure of each contact point.
When the analysis is complete, we provide you with a detailed report of your foot pathology along with recommendations for the type of orthotic that will provide the most benefit to you.
There are many different types of orthotics, each designed to correct a specific type of problem. For example, some orthotics are designed to support the arch of the foot, while others are meant to realign the bones in the foot or ankle. Our orthotic specialists in Edmonton are here to help answer any questions you may have regarding our process.
